I live in the Central Wheat belt district of Mukinbudin in WA with my wife Deanne, and two children who are currently studying at university. After leaving Agricultural College I returned to the family farm and, with my brother, currently run a 7000 hectare cropping program and approx. 6000 sheep, including a SRS® Poll Merino Stud. The Stud has successfully used the SRS® breeding system since 1995 and have had a close working relationship with Dr. Jim Watts. We have an annual auction of 160 rams and have sold genetics across Australia and internationally.

I have been able to see first hand the productivity increase that the correct implementation of the SRS® Breeding System can deliver and have every confidence in its success in alpacas, if correctly followed. My interest with alpacas started in 2000 when I started to assist Peter and Caroline Richards of Suncloud Alpacas. Being able to skin test their sires for them at that time was beneficial to establish true density and length. Since that time I have assisted Jim with several workshops have also assisted several breeders with their breeding program.

My focus is to assist any WA breeders who want to implement this breeding system, and I am happy to communicate with interstate breeders as to the genetics that are available here in the West.
